Summary: I have researched many receivers and this was the one that I settled on. I have been using this unit for 7-months so far and I really like it. With the right Blu-rays, the surround sound sounds amazing. Also, the built-in Audyssey technology made equalizing the surround sound really easy. In addition, the receiver has plenty of options such as Internet radio and a USB input for your iPhone. I only have 2 complaints. 1) Sometimes the HDMI inputs act a little wonky.
Summary: Setup is quite easy, and the extra network/apple airplay features are nice. This is my first receiver, so I can't really compare it to anything else, but it's a great starter for someone who is just getting into this sort of thing.
Summary: This product has has too many problems with AirPlay connectivity for me to give it a good rating. From day 1, through so many firmware updates there is still no fix. iTunes repeatedly fails to re-connect to the AVR-1613, at least twice per day, claiming that the AVR-1613 is busy. I have only one iTunes client in the house, the Denon is not busy. BTW, I have no such problems connecting an AirPort to it and just leaving the power on.
Summary: I purchased this unit to power speakers for an outdoor kitchen and it works great! It is easy to use and the ability to plug my IPhone in the front USB port and play music from my Itunes account made this the perfect unit. I have purchased Denon brand receivers before and you won't find a better receiver for the money!
Summary: Easy to set up and better than my bose. Cheaper too! installed one month ago, integrates with my directtv, blue ray, iphone. Since my TV is already connected to the internet, didn't need any more bells and whistles
Summary: I have looked everywhere for a solution and cannot find out if they ever fixed the issue, most blogs say it is a Pandora issue not Denon. Simple fact it wont play my Pandora One which I never really listen to regular radio because I hace enough commercials/ advertising in my life.
Summary: Tested this AVR with two computers with two different versions of iTunes: Previous and new one. The receiver stops playing after some time and locks the device, not allowing you to re-initiate playing tunes through it (Device in use). Called Denon and they said never heard of such problem. Told me to return the equipment as defective. Won't recommend.
Summary: I bought one refurbished Denon AVR 1613. Defective on arriving. Returned it and got a replacement. Beautiful sound but it made TV screen off and on every few seconds and no video from DVD source. Got third one and still the same. Gave it up and got my money back. Assume I get a fourth one working, I would worry that how long will this one last? 2 days, or 3 weeks? The worst, one day after the warranty expires.
Summary: I have never reviewed a purchase before, but feel compelled to comment on Denon customer service. The receiver is fine as advertised and as reviewed before. The complexity of the systems it is designed to control would tax the ability of an owner's manual. Fortunately, the Denon call center, whose staff is immediately available, knowledgeable, pleasant and quick to the task, removes frustration and head banging from the equation.
