Summary: bought it , love it now that I figured it out... the manual is not well conceived with few words and mostly only diagrams, but once u figure out that you DO have it correctly connected and that the reason you hear nothing ( when switching between HDMI inputs it can take up to 10 seconds!
Quality is one word to describe Azur 551r and is worth the $$$.

Summary: I let go my NAD for this one and was worried I would not be happy. I am so pleased to tell you I'm glad I made the move and I'm blown away with the channels separation and solid highs and base I get with this bad ass. NAD is not chopped liver, and I was very happy with it, especially the EARS.
Summary: Previously I bought a Pioneer Elite SC-65 9.2 Channel THX® Select 2 Plus A/V Receiver. This was a nightmare to use. 126 page manual and only as a electronic file that can only be read on a PC (I'm a Mac user). I returned it.
Summary: So, this was a shock from a company pushing into the high end. The speaker wire connection points on the back of the device will not accept any form of cable other than stripped wire. So, if you are ike me and have a decent pair of cables with spade or banana lugs, you are out of luck.
Summary: I bought the Cambridge Audio Azur 551r just over two years ago (€ 1200) and since then is been more the service technician who at home! Absolutely unreliable! In warranty initially was not working a channel audio, then did not allow the setup (you could not use the function OSD), then the remote...
Summary: I am a fan of good quality sound, and I move a lot so I like things with a smaller space footprint. Also, I am not fond of all of this smart-TV, internet hub, all-in-one type gimmicky junk that comes with not just receivers, but also TVs, DVD/bluray players, and dozens of other home entertainment...
Summary: Unit is unreliable. Remote works intermittently. Audio and video go blank every few hours. Unit must be turned off and back on to get it to work again. Returned the unit two different times under warranty, at my own shipping expense, for repairs. The first repair was to install a firmware update.
Summary: Great to play the vinyl collection again (including the odd pop and scratch!) Cambridge 551P = unobtrusive, easy connectivity. Electronics bring out the best from the records with a wide ranging dynamic sound.
