Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir

2 September 2013
  • Summary: In theory, the idea behind Spirit Camera is brilliant. Exploiting the 3DS' augmented reality features to turn players into ghost hunters is a marvelous undertaking. I love the thought of scurrying around the house, pretending the 3DS is a magic camera that can see malevolent spirits in the real world. Unfortunately, there's a major setback to the whole thing, and it's apparent the moment you start the game.

Augmented reality horror game fascinates but lacks depth.

  • Summary: Parents need to know that Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir is an augmented reality game targeted at teens and older players. It is filled with scary images and uses the 3DS camera to create the illusion that evil spirits occupy real space in the same room as the player. Players will see some bloody smears, cracked camera lenses, and people with their faces missing (they may appear scratched out in pictures or have their eyes and mouths sewn shut).

Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir

  • Excerpt: Förvandla din 3DS-konsol till en spökjägarkamera i det här uppfinningsrika skräckäventyret, vars genomförande dessvärre faller platt.
  • Pros: Goda intentioner
  • Cons: Noll skräckstämning, Usel historia, Pinsamt kort, saknar mervärde, Kräver perfekta förutsättningar..., ...men fungerar knappt ändå
