I'm using some spoilers, so look away for those who haven't played the first LoS.

Summary: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate is a sort of continuation to the first Lords of Shadow. I will try not to spoil much but cannot promise. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate takes place after the cataclysmic events of the original Lords of Shadow, and if you’ve not played that particular game yet and wish to avoid spoilers, I advise you stop reading now.
Good entry in the series, a few things I'm not that fond of though.

Summary: I picked this up because I have a compulsive need to own all things Castlevania. In fact I bought this before I had a 3DS, but now I do have one so I have played this. I like it, for the most part, except that because they decided to add in the 'Prince of Persia'-style ledges, now you take falling damage above a certain height. I can't say I'm a fan of that, since as far as I can remember, the other games don't have that mechanic.
Summary: If you are looking for a true Castlevania game this is not the one. I would say that this game is more of an action platformer than anything. The 3d is great and the battles are challenging, but I feel like it lost the whole mystery of what to do next and exploration side that I loved from the DS days.
Summary: I absolutely love the old-school side-scrolling Castlevania games on the NES, Super NES and Game Boy Advance. They were extremely difficult in some areas, and had a style all their own. It pains me that they went in such a different direction for the 3DS version. I understand they are trying to align it with the PS3/X Box 360 games that have come out, but they really should have kept the original gameplay style with this handheld version.
Summary: If you want a chance to wrap your head around the new reboot of the story, then you gotta play this. That's a good thing! Everything about this game is top quality as the series is well known for. You learn how Trevor, Simon, and Alucard are tied together (closer than you think) to Dracula. Rock solid combat and the incredible boss fights make this one shine and fulfilling. You will want to play more just to see what happens next.
Summary: The Lords of shadow saga is really a refreshing pace for the franchise and if you are looking for a new Castlevania adventure then don't waste more time and order it. You won't regret it. Really decent game. Only drawback is that it is kinda short but if you are looking into completing the LoS saga then you can't miss this entry in the franchise. Totally recommend it.
