Fun, But Doesn't Feel Right

Matthew R, Amazon
18 May 2015
  • Summary: The game is fun, but it lacks a little bit of Castlevania characte. I am having fun adventuring through it, but it just doesn't feel like it has a real identity. It is a lot of jumping and platforming, and a lot of whipping (A lot more detail into the combat combos for sure) but it just feels like a...

waste a lot of time

  • Summary: I played Castlevania on GBA when I am a child. When I find this game on 3dx, I am very excited. But, after I played this game, all the feeling has gone. Lot of conversation, waste a lot of time. Only have one weapon, feels boring. Not worth of money. GBA's Castlevania is better than 3ds's.

Side Scroller

Detailspleeze, Amazon
3 February 2015
  • Summary: Traditional side-scrolling Castlevania in 3D. The more traditional side scrolling is what had me sold on this game. Note, you can turn the depth slider completely off, but the 3D looks really, really cool.

I'm using some spoilers, so look away for those who haven't played the first LoS.

  • Summary: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate is a sort of continuation to the first Lords of Shadow. I will try not to spoil much but cannot promise. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate takes place after the cataclysmic events of the original Lords of Shadow, and if you’ve not played that particular...

better than lord of shadow 2. its what you expect out of a castlevania game.

  • Summary: Unlike lord of shadow 2 this one delivers on my expectation of what a castlevania game is about. you play as simon, alucard and trevor. Alucard has better defined backstory in this one instead of just being a cool character.

Good entry in the series, a few things I'm not that fond of though.

Amazon Customer "Ro", Amazon
11 September 2014
  • Summary: I picked this up because I have a compulsive need to own all things Castlevania. In fact I bought this before I had a 3DS, but now I do have one so I have played this. I like it, for the most part, except that because they decided to add in the 'Prince of Persia'-style ledges, now you take falling...

shado474, Metacritic
7 August 2014
  • Summary: Despite some of the graphics that are pretty nice and some impressive 3D effects, the game itself is so boring and guided that it's more like watching a show than playing an actual game.

The 3d is great and the battles are challenging

RyanThomasTrumpet, Amazon
2 August 2014
  • Summary: If you are looking for a true Castlevania game this is not the one. I would say that this game is more of an action platformer than anything. The 3d is great and the battles are challenging, but I feel like it lost the whole mystery of what to do next and exploration side that I loved from the DS...

Excellent game!

  • Summary: My husband loves this game!- actually every castlevania made. So much that he bought it on xbox 360 as well. This story is between LoS and LoS 2. While I personally don't play this game(just watch) it is nicely done and the story line is great!
