Summary: It's ok. When I bought it I knew it was a cheap game. I played the DS version and it was surprisingly fun, even if it did not feel like a AAA game. This one is sort of like that. The graphics are ok, there seems to be plenty of races and cars, and it's dirt cheap. It does have some issue.
Alright But Not Perfect Racing Game But For The Price Forgivable
1 March 2012
Summary: There's really nothing much you can say about racing games other then there's' a little fun and it helps pass the time but other then that really nothing amazing. The only complaint I really have about this game is that the lighting design on some of the tracks leaves a lot to be desired, like on one track I don't know how but I was turned literally around and was going in the opposite direction but wasn't alerted to that until I saw for myself I was going the wrong way.
Summary: I got this game based off of the stellar DSiWare version, and the graphics from the iPad version. Good gameplay + good graphics sounded good to me. The good news: The cars look amazing. The bad news: everything else is as disastrous as one of the game's car crashes itself. Many shortcuts are aimed poorly, resulting in crashes into invisible walls, the wall next to where you were supposed to land, and clipping the guardrail, killing your speed.
Summary: Deciding whether to purchase this game was originally a hard decision. I really wasn't finding very much on the internet about it, and what I did find seemed to be negative for the most part. I ended up getting this game used for $10, and have to say that at this price point, I have found the game to be enjoyable and worth picking up and playing through, especially for anyone who likes flat out high speed racing games.
Summary: The Need for Speed franchise started out as a racing for fun game. My brother and I used to go for hours on the old PS One version of Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit. But then sadly, NFS started to stand for Need for Story, as every game they produced had some stupid story behind it. Asphalt 3D made me remember how fun racing games could be without the "unappreciated kid that want's to be cool with the other racers" or "Cop undercover trying to crack down on illegal street...
Summary: I'm having a lot of fun playing this game but the graphics can get really glitchy. It's hard to describe but certain moments the graphics will skip around or get jerky. It feels really unrealistic at times too especially when crashing into other cars. I'm not sure if the 3DS just has a weak processor or something but the game physics could be a lot better.
Conclusion: After playing asphalt for about an hour i feel quite let down. This game is quite enyoyable if it wasn't for the frequent slowing down and choppy gameplay, hence 3 stars has it could have been a very good game. Ridge racer is a better racing game at the moment for 3ds.
